7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish?
no

As much as we have tried we cannot keep the ammo and nitrites down , i have a small filter along side the big filter. the tanks been running about 12 weeks now.
to start of it was fine all paramiters was good ..

but then over the last month i have had to do lots of changes of the water ,
when i have done the changes , and retested all is fine nitrites 0 ammo 0 etc ..but then checking again in the mornings its readings of ammo 25 and nitrites 25 , if i miss a day of changing the following day nitrites have gone up past 50 sometimes even 1

so what are we missing here :S ??

i took out half the water the other day to fill the quarantine tank .. tested that tank next day and water was good. :S

i just cant think what is going on and why it wont stay down

we feed fish flakes and pellets for the algae eaters only 2 pellets and a tiny pinch of flake

but we have stopped feeding them now too see if were over feeding, in hope that the water will come back to normal

the fish in this tank have been fed once in 4 days and still cant get the nitrites and ammo down even tho we have done 30% water changes daily .but when changes have been done water is normal :S but like i said following day they are high again

thanx for the helps, Anyone have any ideas plz

If you're getting readings for ammonia and/or nitrite, it's an indication that either your filter isn't cycled yet, or that the filter's not coping with the fish's wastes.

Are you replacing anything in the filter at all or, if not, how are you cleaning the filter out?

the filter sponges gets a rince in the bucket from water from tank which i remove .. the sponge gets dipped and squeezed out then replace , this so it doesnt wash out the bacteria , surely after 12 weeks it should be cycled? i know the goldfish waste is a lot ..so is there anything i can do cept doing the water changes daily to help this along ?

Unless you can get hold of some already cycled media, then no, water changes are the only thing that's going to really help.
