Hello! Just introducing myself. My first fish were two female bettas, Kiana and Glory. Glory was kept in a 2 gallon bowl, Kiana in a 1 gallon. Neither bowl was heated or filtered, and Glory died after only 2 months. I felt terrible and have now done the research I should have done before. I have learned from my mistake, and fast forward a year, my current tanks are a 10 gallon tank, which is home to a very happy Kiana, 6 young guppies (three of which will be going to my LFS as I have 2 females and 4 males) and 2 mystery snails. It has a sand bottom, dragon stone, java fern, Anubias, and dwarf sagittaria. My second tank is a 55 gallon that is home to a small, probably 2 inch, Electric Blue Acara, 12 Bloodfin Tetras, 6 Pygmy Cory, 3 Cory Hastatus (i bought three, planned on getting more, now i can't find them anywhere☹️) 1 Olive Nerite Snail, and 4 neon tetras. It currently has fake plants and some rocks, but i am working on ordering live plants and driftwood. I have never been on a forum before, so I am sorta figuring it out. I love my fish, and am excited to have found this place!

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

If you have any serious problems with your fish, just start a thread in the emergency section of the forum and someone should pop along and try to help you out.

If you have general questions about specific fish, you can start a thread under the type of fish under the Forums heading at the top left of screen. There are also headings for general chat, other types of pets, aquatic plants, etc.

A thread is a subject started by someone, in this case by you, and other members of the forum put their responses in posts under the original post. Anyone can read the posts and respond to them. If you want to reply to a specific point in a post, you can highlight the part you want and it will go blue, you then click reply at the bottom of the blue bit. The part you highlighted will appear in a window at the bottom of the page and you can type your response under it. You can also just click the reply button at the bottom of any post, and it will put everything in that post into a new window for you to add a response to.

If you have any questions, just ask. There's plenty of people on here who can help you out. :)

The following link has information about what to do if your fish get sick. It's long and boring but worth a read when you have some spare time.
