Just getting into the hobby and setting up my tank.
here is my progress so far
5ft aquarium 2ft deep 18inches wide
aqua one 1400 external filter
together with an Oase pump with 2 heads

over the last month I have stocked with
a pair of large angels (about 5to 6inches)
a large common plectrum about 12 inches
a pair of large parrot fish and two smaller ones
3 swordtail females and one male
a catfish (forgot the breed) about 4inches
and for added movement 6 white tipped tetras and 6 rainbow corrys
I did have 3 gouramis but 2 disappeared overnight 😱
various plants , bog wood and a cave for the parrots to hide in
they all seem to be doing well and the water clarity is finally crystal clear
loving the hobby so far

Welcome to TFF

Is the tank cycled? What is your source water hardness? you've got a mixture of hard and soft water fish

And TBH, your stocking may/will lead to compatibility/aggression issues (the gouramis were probably victims of the angels)

Expect the pleco to reach 2 feet in length, as well

Welcome have fun yes pleco will get huge I found that out many years ago with my first tank. I started with angels until the one killed all the others no he/she is the only angel in the tank. Hope you have better luck than me.

My tap water is not hard , with regards to the stocking oh well it’s too late now and it will be survival of the fittest.
I would like the pleco to reach what size it likes tbh , when I had it from the stockist I think he was being bullied his tail is badly frayed/chewed and i saw him a few times before I bought him he never moved much in the tank he was kept and for a few days once I brought him home he was just the same.
he is full of life now though and seems far happier
