Hi everyone,

I'm from Pakistan! I've 4 tanks (2 large, one 45 cm cube, and the other 30 cm cube).

Here to ask some questions regarding the recent death of my male balloon molly. Hopefully, I'll be able to prevent such deaths of my fishes in the future.

Regards,

Hello and welcome to the forum

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Balloon mollies are genetically deformed fish made by man. Their body is shorter than it should be and this squishes up their organs and makes it harder for them to swim and digest food. Most people here prefer not to keep any balloon fish because they don't do as well as their normal shaped counterparts.

Mollies need a pH above 7.0 and a GH (general hardness) above 250ppm. If you have water with a lower pH and GH, you will struggle to keep mollies alive.
