Im from Toronto, Ontario (Canada, eh?). I own three tanks and I have three tanks with various creatures and an empty ten gallon for breeding harlequin rasboras. I have two years of experience, and I have joined fishlore.com aswell under the same name.
Any experienced egg scatterer breeders want to share advice?

Hello and welcome, I had luck with my red eyed tetras which had over a dozen fry over 3 months but no luck with my neon, glow light and ember tetras.

What fish are you trying to breed?

Most tetras have eggs that are sensitive to light and will only hatch in dark tanks with very soft water (GH below 20ppm).

Barbs are easy. Have some Java Moss on one side of the tank. Add a pair of fish, let them go for it, remove parents and wait for babies.

Rainbowfish are similar to barbs except they scatter eggs each day for weeks or months and you simply remove the plants (Java Moss) or spawning mops and put them in hatching tanks.

The following link has info about breeding fish and preparing food for the fry.
