Hi i got told this was a shark catfish but ive just been looking about on the net and it looked like a pang at first and then i saw a channel cat and mine is very almost identical to it so i just want conformation really can anyone help with this please, it is about 10" i can't get a proper size of it as it wont stay still lol :good:

yea thats a channel catfish. :good:
they get pretty big. i catch some at times when i go fishing..
 
That is definitely a species of Ictalurus, but I can give an accurate answer, if you can obtain a picture of it's anal/tail fin. The dorsal fin, and the sheer appearance mimics younger specimens. I'm trying to depict if this is a blue channel or a regular channel. The difference can be determined by the anal fin. The anal margin is straight on the Ictalurus furcatus, and the anal fin is more rounded on the Ictalurus punctatus. Although Blue Channels seem to have the scattered dark spots, so I'm leaning towards the Ictalurus furcatus.
