Hermit Crabs Anyone?

Anyone else have hermit crabs? I have a few questions about them. I only have two right now. They are both around 4 years old. One of my crabs recently died, he was also my newest and biggest. Since he died Clicker and Commet always are by each other's side and are not coming out as much. Do you think getting a few more crabs would cheer them up or something? It's a 20 gallon tank so I'm pretty sure they would fit. What do you think?

Hello! Glad to see another hermit crab owner on here.
 
GEtting more crabs depends on alot of things. Including diet, size of crabs, amount of shells, etc. 
 
How many shells do you have per crab and any bigger or extra ones?
HOw deep is your substrate in your tank? 
What is the substrate in the tank? Is it damp?
What size crabs are they? (just take them out and measure shell openings)
What is their diet?
How many molts have you had with them?
What is the humidity and temperature?
Do you bathe them?
 
IF you answer these questions then I can tell you. I have been keeping crabs for years now, so I am pretty good at helping with issues. Sometimes it will be a diet issue, shell issue, etc.
 
Also, please include a picture of the "crabitat"
