I really do have the most on - off pair of fish you could ever imagine. Burke and Belle, my Pratilapia Pollini pair, are in love again. Over the last month they have been having a go at each other and chasing one another into inaccessable areas. Usually Burke, the male, will win because of his size. Belle, however, always has a place to hide away from him when he gets mean. It's all down to how responsive she is to his advances.... basically, she's not always in the mood, whereas, being a bloke, he's always up for it. They spawned for the first time 2 months ago but the eggs got eaten, either by them or a Featherfin syno who they used to share with.
They are now excavating an area under bogwood, so heres hoping that another spawning is imminant.
