Help With Sand

hello everyone.....
i am building a tropical fish tank,,, i have sand that i brought back from the the beach in Punta cana, i would like to put this sand in my tank .... how could i clean or wash out the salt from it , so i could but it in my tropical tank ?
please help.........

i thought you couldnt get sand from the beach i thought you could only have playsand or sand especially for fish i think you should wait for a more accurate post.

a site I found, I goggled normal sand and i cant find anything at all with reference to beach sand. I would think its a no no as you never know what else is in there even if you wash it.

I wouldn't put in sand from the beach. The sand you put in the tank needs to be inert and you wouldn't know whether what you have is or not.

Get playsand or coral sand, depending on what fish you want to keep. Then wash it until the water runs clear.
