Hi jessicarose and welcome to the beginners section,

You are in what is called a Fish-In Cycle. Have a look at the top of our subforum for our Beginners Resource Center. Look for articles first on the Nitrogen Cycle, the Fish-In Cycle and the Fishless Cycle. These will help you to understand the basics of "cycling."

Let us know how big your tank is, how many fish you put in and what your goals are!

Well there is ten fish. The size of the tank is just right but I only have 9 fish because one died and it only has been one day been one day at least I know how it died so early and how it died was it had a hurt tail and was still fast but not fast enough to get food before the the others but once in a while it got to a piece of food about a grain of sand, It only got 2 pieces as big as a grain of sand so yeah.

if the size of the tank is just right that means it's a 90 gallon tank then?

since they grow fairly big and you have quite a few...

also, it may well not be a food problem, but that amount of fish produce a lot of waste, and it could have died from ammonia poisoning. esp if you haven't cycled the tank yet.

EDIT:
I'd recommend getting hold of a test kit(liquid) and letting us know the water stats, with ammonia and nitrite being the bare minimum, also, I'd say do a water change whenever either one gets up to 0.25ppm (or mg/l)

Well another fish died yesterday. One fish got stuck in the filter and died and one fish got stuck in the filter and swam out of the filter and is alive today and I actually only have nine though I payed for ten.... :X .I have six fish right now

I fixed my fish getting stuck in the filter and dying problem and I have 5 fish left

That will really be the first and most important step to help keep the current fish from dying and also to use as a learning tool for the fundamentals of how you will keep your fish alive after the cycle is over!

How big is this tank?

Simply instead of saying "i have the right size" answer the question as i am sure that you went off the notorious pet store's advice. here, answer the following:
How Big Is Your Tank?
What kind of filter do you own?
do you have a heater?
if so what is the current temperature?
did you cycle?

Jessica rose - None of your fish will have died from lack of food or because of the filter. Fish use the tank as a toilet. It may not look like it but you have a HUGE amount of fish in your tank.

Over time little organisms grow that eat the waste your fish make and stop them being poisoned by it. Until then the fish are being poisoned. This makes them tired and ill. Then they cant swim or breath properly and so they start to die and get sucked into the filter.

Read what people have said VERY careful, their advice will keep your fish alive. Answer all the questions the ask.

Your fish are being poisoned! You need to do something about it!

Umm...Because of the filter I meant it got sucked into the filter and broke its tail bone back bone ext.

just answer the questions; your stubbornness to learn/take in advice is killing your fish

Fish don't get stuck in filters unless theres something wrong with the fish,i's bad water quality.

To save what remaining fish you have i suggest you do a large waterchange with dechlorinated water.

What size is your tank in gallons,if you're not sure get a tape and measure the length, height and width and we'll help you with the size.
