Kind of stuck for ideas on what to do with a 60L tank, it used to home my betta but he sadly passed away :(

Tank is sand based, 60L, has a heater, good filter.

Want; something brightly coloured perhaps, one or two bigger fish and a couple of smaller ones? Thinking gouranis but cant decide which kind!

Do not want; More bettas, I have kept bettas for years and fancy something different! Also dont want mollys, guppys or neons /cardinals. I just dont like them.

So, any ideas? :)

I'm not new to fishkeeping, so dont bother with the 'cycle your tank' speech :p

Why not try out 3 dwarf puffers! Just got a few and they are so much fun to watch! looks like little bee's in the aquarium!
Here is one of my little guy

Thanks for all the opinions n_n

I really like dwarf puffers and had considered getting one in the past for a 5g I had, but I couldn't find anywhere local that stocks them! So unfortunately those are pretty unlikely.

Glowlight danios are very nice, I've seen them in the LFS a few times so I'll definately be considering those with the dwarf gourami, am I correct in thinking with dwarf gourami it's 1 male to 2 females? or would a group of all males be alright?

Rummy nose tetra's are great, I had some in a community tank many moons ago! Those will for sure make the short list on stocking, I just love them n_n
Opaline gourami's are good too, what numbers would be best in this combination? Perhaps the same as Carlovel1 suggested; 6 tetras 3 gourami or are opaline gourami's considerably bigger than dwarf in which case maybe less gourami?

[EDIT] Been thinking about it and with some shuffling, I could set up my spare 90L instead where the 60L is now, which would give me a LOT more options.... Gonna have a look at what I could get in this as well, weigh up my options n_n
