I need some help. I'll start from the beginning. I bought a paradise fish at Petco, brought it home, and stuck it in my QT tank. For two weeks it stayed there. I thought he was fine so I stuck it in my big Mollie tank. It was fine for about a week then it seemed like it didn't want to swim or eat. It changed color from bright orange and blue to dark almost black in color. I tested my water with an API master kit and everything was fine. I came home from work the next day and he was dead. Other than his color, he looked fine. No ick, no wounds, nothing weird. I scooped and flushed him. Everyone else looked fine. Ate fine, swimming fine. Then about a week later one of my silver mollies had what looked like a growth on her head with what looked like a bruise. Two days later, she died. Everyone else looked fine so I didn't think the two deaths were related. Now another silver Mollie has a growth and what looks like a bruise on her side. I don't know what’s going on. I did PWC's every week. Water tested fine every time. This tank is all my female mollies. I was thinking of getting antibiotics but I don't know what to buy. I'm in the USA if that helps with suggestions. I'm also afraid of killing all the good bacteria in my tank but at this point I'm afraid of all my females dying. Can someone please help me? I need some suggestions. Thanks, MCQC4

I am going to suggest an immediate huge, not a wimpy 50%, water change. I am also going to move this to the tropical emergencies section in case someone there has more insight than we do here in the livebearer section.

I did large water changes. At least 60-75% everyday now for 3 days. My water tests fine. I don't know what to do. I never had any problems before and I'm really concerned. Any suggestions Oldman? Anyone else? Please help.

We really need more information to help. You should fill out the information from the sticky: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/2330-please-read-before-posting-to-emergency-section/

Water parameters like "fine" can't really tell us anything, and it's important to know every detail about the tank. Just copy that form and fill it out here. We should be able to get a better idea of what we're working with.

My other Mollie died. I did some research and I found out what it is. It's a fungal infection. I went out to That Fish Place and talked to a fish specialist. (Google them) He really knew what he was talking about. He found a picture of exactly of what my fish looked like when they pasted away. He told me to do just what Oldman said, huge water change, and he gave my some meds to put in the tank. He said I need to treat them for 5 days. I really appreciate everyone’s help. Oldman as always, your knowledge is spot on.I still don't know what caused it but I'm so glad I finally know what is wrong. Thanks everybody. MCQC4

Just a quick update. Since I've been treating my tank with the meds, Everyone looks good. No growths or deathes. I'm glad I found this forum with everyones help, my fish are on the road to recovery. Thanks everyone. :good:
