Help! Sick betta

My betta started with popeye yesterday and now I noticed his mouth is swollen. He is lethargic and not eating as well either. Any ideas on what this is?

I've never dealt with popeye before.... start with lots of water changes and list your water quality test kit results

the fish is covered in excess mucous, which is normally caused by poor water quality.

do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for 2 weeks and see how it goes.
make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
