Hey Guys - I need your help please. I set up a fish tank at the end of April, I've currently got 5 Neon Tetras and 2 Albino Corys (I've seen on your site I'll need to get them some friends). My prob is this brown stuff that seems to grow on everything in my tank. It looks like rust? I'm regularly cleaning it and changing 20% of the water each week. Theres no Nitrate and maybe just 0.25% Ammonia - could this be the cause? How can I get rid of it? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Catherine xx (Pingu)

The tank has been set up and running for 4 months? Have you made any recent changes to it such as adding fish, etc.? You're showing ammonia but no nitrates at all? Have you tested for nitrites? Do you have live plants? If your tank is fully cycled you should be showing no ammonia or nitrites but you should be showing nitrates. Do not add anymore fish until you get the water situation taken care of. The brown stuff could be brown algae which normally shows up at the tail end of the cycling and should disappear by itself.
