Help Please

Recently I had to release my lizard as his 'girlfriend' died and he was miserable so I want to get a fish. I have a plenty big tank for a beta (15 wide-long 30 tall) but I like the Bala sharks too. Can anyone tell me wich is better?

betta would be fine but a bala sharks gets over a foot long if i remeber so thats a no no in the size tank u have
