Hey guys!
I'm new to the forum and I could use a quick help. I recently bought a pair of Cichlids from a local aquarium for 2$. The guy there didn't know what type of fish these are. Can you help me?

Those YWC (Yellow Wolf Cichlids) can get pretty agressive towards each other so watch out, also how big is your tank?

Pretty sure they are salvini but a bit washed out I think they are both Male as females get a black spot on their gill cover.

Wills

My tank is about 15 gallons. I think it might be Salvinis as Wills has suggested. I could be wrong though ?.

Yikes 15g is super small for them they get 6-8 inches long and are pretty feisty. Stunning fish but I’d say 75g minimum more for their attitude than their size

Even if it is, cichlids need a bigger tank than your current one.

I'm going with salvini as well. The color is a bit washed out. But body shape and pattern around the eye and body say salvini to me.

They need a bigger tank. I'd say at least a 55, and more ideally larger since they are so mean.

Thanks guys! I did a bit of reading about them and obviously you guys are right. Gotta get a big one. ? Thanks for going easy on a noob.
Great to hear they are a lovely fish when they mature
