I would definately use the bacterial med on him.
The yellow can you describe the texture of it, have you shined a torch on the patch with tank lights out yet,
Columnaris comes in a yellow colour as well as the more common white colour.

Red spots on skin can be caused by:

Just catching up-been really busy so havent had time for the forum!

Andy, i dont remember seeing any lesions when we caught him. Although i can't say we were looking.

I hope he's ok....

Hi Zoe,

He is still in quarantine but seems to be acting fine. Eating normally too.

The yellow is still there but the red dots seem to have died down. I am going to keep an eye on him for the next few days.

All fish that were in the tank with him are fine too.

I am rescaping the Rio 300 he came in tomorrow, fully planted setup, I've kept all the plecs but traded in the cichlids. Planning on stocking some Congo Tetras and Redline Torpedo barbs in a couple of months when the tank has matured a bit.

Actually i do remember him having a little yellow almost golden colour around the throat...

That will look awesome, cant wait to see pics!!!
