The ph is also 6. which is odd because its usually 7.2

Forgive the obvious questions, but this is intriguing, and a bit of a puzzle. Scanned back over the thread, and didn't see these things mentioned;

1. Do you have a filter on the tank? What kind?
2. Is there some kind of substrate on the bottom on the enclosure? A dirt substrate maybe?

Could you upload a photo of the tank please?

That is a big change in numbers. My best guess, is that you tested in correctly the first time.

I am a bit concerned about the other parameters... @AdoraBelle Dearheart ‘s questions will help.
