Sorry, I don't know enough to give you proper advice. Anybody that can will need to know your water stats. Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and Ph. Probably what other fish you have as well. Might be a good idea and save time if you can post these. I've been there, so have lots of others, Good luck.

Can you tell us size of tank, how many fish are in it, what kind of fish they are, water tempreture & water test results?

i am afraid to tell your tank
is not cycled i will put a link
up for you it will help you a lot
is about cycling your tank

From my admittedly limited experience, I reckon The Biffster is right - it's unlikely your filter is fully cycled after 3 weeks of fish and 1 week of nothing. The chances are that your problems are caused BECAUSE your filter is not fully cycled. Have a good read of the link that Biffster posted, all the stuff in there is designed for beginners like you and me to understand fully what goes on in a fish tank.

To be able to help the experts help you, what are your test results (ammonium, nitrite and nitrate in ppm, and pH level) and how are you testing them (ie liquid test kit, test strips, taking water to your local fish shop)? Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but saying that they're perfect isn't really enough detail.

if you go and get your water
tested get your lfs to right
the results down on a piece
of paper or even better why
not buy yourself a test kit
you can pick them up cheap
on eBay now for just about
half price that they are in the shops
the best one is the
API fresh water master test kit
