Help Buying Fish

Alright, so im looking for a catfish for my African cihlid tank to clean it up a little.
I was looking for days! But i finally stumbled upon a type that can handle to ph of the cichlids...
There is one horrible catch.... It was from Wal-Mart.
Wal-mart was selling them for $5 while mt LFS for $25! So i really wanted to buy one. but i didnt.
I know walmart has really bad sick fish but im kind of on a budget. I was thinking to put the fish i buy in a quarantine tank with medication (Here) for two days then move to main?
the fish look healthy and attractive but i dont want to take chances.
Should i save them or not?

resuce, and put the in the q-tank for 2 weeks, dont put meds if they dont need em, maybe anti-fungal or bacterial meds but nothing if they dont need it

Make that 4 weeks as some pathogens can take that long to surface. Agree that you shouldn't add meds unless they actually are sick.

Query: What kind of catfish is it?
