Because my last letter as gone far down the list i have decided to use a( new topic) you tell me what my prob could be but no one has told me how to get rid. the tank has been running almost a year since it went cloudt the water parameters are, ammonia 1.2. nitrite between 0.3-0.8. nitrate 10 p.h. 7.0. Yes i have just changed back to gravel but the prob was there before.

How long have your test results been like this? What caused it? You said something about switching back to gravel. Did you totally change out your tank gravel/sand?

From your results,it looks like your tank is in the midst of a cycle and/or some of your bacteria was disrupted. I really need to know what you changed and what started your issue.

Keep doing water changes until we figure this out. Might try a dose of Amquil+ in the mean time to help lower ammonia and nitrite. Hopefully, some of the more seasoned fish keepers will jump on this thread too.

Hard to help without any details. Is it planted? How many fish, what types, how old? How big is this tank? What kind of fitration are you using? Any additives we should know about? Is your test kit fairly new?

Hi, i have just changed back to gravel but that is not the prob the water was cloudy before i changed, it started about three days before, do you mean amqual+ if so i use that infact i have just run out. If this prob only started after i did the change then i would know what caused it but as i said it was cloudy before. On another forum someone sugested doing 90% water change because the ammonia is too high, then keep doing changes till i get the ammonia down.

What color was the cloud? green, white, greyish. How often did you change your water? Did you vac. the bottom of the tank? Cloudy water is a sign of to much nutrients in the tank. That is like fish food, fish waste etc.
