Hi I joined only yesterday after looking on this site for help with white spot, I had treated the tank with a propriety white spot treatment. But to no avail and this morning I found most of my fish dead, the whole tank had died by this evening . It all happened so quickly. I was going to finish with the setup in the summer as time was a bit pressing but decided to carry on and see out the lives of the fish - not expecting this to happen. I feel very upset atm and not sure what to do. So it is with a sad heart that I join this forum.

We all have our own little horror stories. Don't let it discourage you. Let's find out why you had problems, and how to fix those problems. You will be up and running in no time. Good morning and welcome to the forum! :good:

White spot...try 1 tablespoon of marine salt per five gallons of water, and (if you have a tropical tank) boosting the temperature to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with a fifty percent water change every other day for a week. Well, that's if you have the tank running. Sorry to hear about your loss, I can hardly imagine how horrible that must be for you, having one fish die is heartbreaking enough, but an entire population while you are trying everything....I was lucky enough to only lose five fish in my ich epidemic, but I had been paranoid about it months before it showed up. What I suggest is rinsing the tank with water, (no soap, of course, likewise decorations, equipment and gravel, then drying it thoroughly. Then, when you feel ready you can restart it and get more fish. I think it is safe for me to speak for all of TFF when I say we're with you all the way.

Same thing happened to me. I know how you feel. This happened just about a month ago and right now I'm in restocking my tank. Only one fish survived my epidemic but I didn't let that push me away so don't let it push you away!!!
