I had multiple aquariums back in the early 70s, and find it interesting how much the whole process has changed. I have a 20 gallon high tank that by the ”inch” rule is probably overstocked. 5 small zebra danios, 6 Colombian tets, 3 corys, 2 Siamese algae eaters, 2 very small ottocinclus, 2 kribensis and 6 or so Nerite snails. My water remains crystal clear and when tested, well within all parameters. I have acquired a 75 gallon tank and will set it up once my grandson is able to get under the house and reassure me that the floor will hold the weight. Being retired and partially disabled, this has been perfect for me. It gives me a project to work on that I can actually do, and watching the result is continually satisfying.

Hi and welcome to TFF... :hi:
Well, keeping a tank and fish hasn't change that much over the years. It's more that the technique has changed...

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Yes your 20 gallon tank is a little overstocked :)
But when your grand son has checked the floor for structural integrity, you can set up the 75g and move them into that.

The Columbian tetras are fin nippers so don't get any fish with long fins.

When the big tank has cycled (takes about 4-6 weeks), you can add some more danios and Corydoras so you have about 10 danios and Cories.
