Hi everybody! I've decided that as a New Year's Resolution, I'm going to get serious about my fish again. Sadly, since my clow knife (Jaws, in my siggy) passed away in 2004, I've been ignoring my aquariums. I did get a couple of Oscars hoping to rekindle my love for them, but they just don't have the same personality as the ones we had before Jaws.

About myself: I'm 26 years old, I have a husband, 2 children, 2 dogs, a cat, and 3 aquariums. I had little 10 gallons in my room when I was growing up all the time, and about a year after I got married I decided I needed to start keeping fish again. We started slowly...with a little 2 gallon "bubble gum" fishbowl. Unfortunately, we were young and stupid and decided that we'd get a "pretty" fish. An African Cichlid. And the idiots at Wal-Mart let us. We quickly got a 29 gallon and kept Africans for awhile. Then we found a steal on a 75 gallon ($175 for the tank, stand, hood, light, gravel, and rocks). We had a few issues with the aquarium having a small leak in one corner, so for a few days our 2 Oscars and 1 Clown Knife each lived in a separate 10 gallon aquarium in the kitchen while we did a quick silicone job on it. The story gets long(er) and (more) boring, so I'll spare you all the details and skip to present day. We have the 75 gallon set up with the new Oscars that we got about a year and a half ago. We had "given" the 29 gallon to our 7 year old daughter who decided she wanted to try angel fish. Despite good water quality, temperature, and feeding, they slowly died over the course of 6 months. So, the plan of action now is to do some thinking and research on a "cool" fish to put in the 29 gallon. I still don't know what. It's a pretty small tank for anything other than community fish, but I have confidence that we'll figure something out. Until then, it's a nice humidifier. Said daughter moved from angels to something much easier...guppies. We set up a 10 gallon in her room and she's having a lot of fun learning about "fish that have babies like people."

Alright, enough about me. I'm excited to jump into the forums and back into my love of tropical fish. :)

Welcome to TFF! I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions for that 29, they are a pretty versatile tank for their size.
