Hello All, Beach Sand

hello everyone.....
i am building a tropical fish tank,,, i have sand that i brought back from the the beach in Punta cana, i would like to put this sand in my tank .... how could i clean or wash out the salt from it , so i could but it in my tropical tank ?
please help.........

I wouldn't put it in. If the sand is similar to aragonite (calcium base), it can increase the water's pH and possibly increase the waters hardness as well. SH
