My Cyanobacteria is somewhere between under control and out of control. After following advice from here including reducing nutrition, adjusting light, tweaking the plants and following a rigorous water change schedule that lead to massive die off of my creatures and plants, I am still having trouble with the stuff. The product Blue exit contains salicylic acid, like aspirin or willow bark and no antibiotics, it has hundreds of polarised reviews. Either it works completely or not at all. Has anyone had experience of treating Cyanobacteria with salicylic acid or salicin? I have also found anecdotal accounts of people preventing Cyanobacteria by placing a piece of willow branch or bark in the fish tank, is this a fairy story?

Hi,
I've never tried it...
There are many other methods that you can use.
