Hi,

I have just ordered some Montipora and Acropora frags .

I was wondering how quickly or slowly they grow? How often do you add coral food?

Any advice would be appreciated.

what do you mean by coral food?

You need to check your calc/kh daily to make sure they are being resupplied when needed, also alot of light, pristine water quality. I forget what size tank you have. I think for ideal growth (in a larger tank) MH light should be used, but I've heard the easier species of montis can grow well under 6-8 t5 tubes.

Under good conditions, they should grow pretty fast, not like mushroom fast though haha. Will be pretty big in a year in a half or so.

What are reef bugs?

you buy thm dried in a box, mix them with tank water for half an hour then pop them in the tank

ps don't use a full dose as it is meant for fully stocked tanks and it will make your tank go cloudy, thats why i feed at night - be aware though, some people don't rate the product, however my stock seem to like it

Don't forget, as much as "feeding" can help, Lighting, Chemistry, and Flow are most important for good hard coral growth. For SPS, high light, flow, calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium along with LOW phosphate needs to be provided before you should really worry about feeding the coral
