Everyone at work, alone at home on halloween with gates locked.

Wait... that doesn't make sense to me. :(

@@ruskell: WOW!!! That's awesome! :)

--I stayed home this year. I had homework to do. It wasn't much HW, but oh well I didn't feel like walking around in the dark for a couple of hours.
I'm not really one of the OLDER OLDER children, but I preferred to stay home this year. And probably the next.

I'm an older child and everyone went out, locking the gates behind them so i was in the house alone while everyone else was at parties or otherwise having fun, thats what the :/ agreement was about.

It can hardly be classed as a money spinner when it's a traditional pagan festival.....that's like saying Christmas is just a money spinner.

Agreed there is little point for all the additional festivities if you don't want to understand the original meaning.

Another debate, yet again, i love this forum...its full of over opinionated people... i love you all hahaha

I love halloween, getting dressed up with the kids, carving pumpkins, trick or treating and decorating the house with webs ghosts etc, its all fun!!! :D

Yeah, because the original pagan festivals all had plastic neon witches & other associated cheap rubbish and filled kids full of pick & mix
Happy Halloween greeting's card anyone?

Its kind of spun out of control tho. I dont celebrate halloween just because i feel its money i could use better spent somewhere else. At present i have no children (so i may change) so therefor no sweets given out or pumpkins carved in my home.

But up until recently i only found out about the real meaning of halloween! As we were not taught about it in school (well not that i can remember........or maybe we were lol).

Hope eveyone with kids had a nice time.

Just dont come to my door coz youll get nothing! Hahahahaha I must seem like a grumpy old so and so!

Yup, that's how we see it too. You have to see the faces of the really young kids that are truly terrified to appreciate! They look back towards their parents to make sure they have back up.........

So you are saying christmas is not a money spinner, sorry but you must live in another world, its a complete and utter rip off where people are put under so much pressure to spend money that they don,t have, kids demanding the most expensive must haves so as they don,t look out of place in their circle of so called friends, if it was up to me I would ban the so called season of goodwill. Rant over.

youd ban jes u s's birthday??

why cant i write the main man of christianity.......in case i offend some one...well actually im offended! :grr:

With out a doubt I would ban it its only, he,is, a myth anyway, lets get shut of the money, debt making con, if people want to celebrate the so called son of their god let them do it in their church, i,ve no objection to that but please don,t let this retailers dream continue.

Since when did anybody get offended by the word Jesu s? S'not like i'm saying Muhammad or anything. Christmas is not about #93### anymore, he wasn't even born in december if things are to be interoperated literally, if things are to be viewed from the offensive side of things then that means the commercialisation of Christmas in itself is offensive.

An evergreen tree decorated with lights and tinsel does not represent all those holidays. Do Jewish families light the Holiday Menorah at sundown? Do Muslims greet each other with “Holiday Mubarak”? A Christmas tree is a symbol of Christmas – and a secular one at that.
