Hereā€™s a photo dump of my group of Gymnogeophagus Terrapurpurra. I will make an article following the same format as my Bichir Article from a few months ago, but during the summer. These guys live in an outdoor ingested 55g acrylic tank. It has 5 different kind of plants, and some Xiphophorus Variatus, Mosquitofish, and Flagfish as dithers. It is also infested with snails in a good way

These are Gymnogeophagus Terrapurpurra. They change colors with the sun (fade or darken). Each fish is different. One has agreen, yellow, blue, and red dorsal fin. Another has neon blue fins with no red. Another has fins with red tips and blue/red patterns. The most prominent color besides their background beige is red. Iā€™ve had them since half an inch, and have been fortunate enough to have them while they were spitting sand at each other ;)

Enjoy šŸ‘

Stunning! *adds to bucket list of fish to keepā€

Cannot wait for the article! When do you expect them to start spawning, if ever?

When I kept Gymnogeophagus rhabdotus and a then undescribed one, they had some serious aggression issues as they grew. I have rarely ever seen a more beautiful Cichlid than the ones from that group, so they are worth any trouble.
I'd keep an eye on things in a 55 - when they got mad at each other, both species were very angry fish.

Yes, the main goal is to get a breeding pair, but a group wouldā€™ve been nice. So far no agression issues. I got th when they were around half an inch, and they are now only an inch and a half or so. So I hope they wonā€™t fight together.
