I have a 10g with couple guppies left in it..

Bought some fish from someone locally, brought dropsy into the tank, and now my guppies are dying 1 by 1..

I tried using epsolm salts, without success... Really not sure what else I can do..

I have snails in the tank, so I cant use anything that will harm the snails.. I'm not even sure there are treatments for dropsy..

I don't know if I should take out the guppies and change the water a bunch of times .. or what I should do..

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
What do you feed the fish.
Are scales sticking out.
What does it look like when the fish go to the toilet.
Any guppys have enlarged anus or a red inflamed anus.
Lost any fish to bent spines.

Do any fish swim on there sides.

I don't test the water ever as I've always done frequent water changes..

Feed em flakes

Scales were sticking out

I couldn't tell you about their poop

I did notice some reddish coloring around their behind..

Haven't lost fish to bent spines

Fish don't swim on their sides

1 of the fish I thought had dropsy was actually just very pregnant.. noticed scales sticking out, got worried.. Next day it was skinny.. Silly me.. Went away for 12 days, guess she filled up with babies and released them the morning after I got back..

I've heard of doing epsolm salt baths.. Was explained to me on another forum how to do so..

Was also recommended the medication ''furan 2''

How does that sound?

I would take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.

Improve the fish diet with more frozen food and green veg.
Look out for when the fish goes to the toilet.
Red inflamed anus can be dropsy to internal parasites.

Furan an bacterial med isn't it.

I don't know about furan.. I have some anti bacterial food.. Maybe I should try that for a few days..

I stopped feeding them frozen bloodworms as I thought that might have something to do with them being constipated/having dropsy..

They like to munch algae wafers, and I crunch up seaweed for them to eat as well..

I think it was probably just a bad batch of guppies I got from someone.. Everything seems to be going ok now

Ok.
Medicated food fine as long as the fish is still eating.
Good Luck.
