im not a happy man

i looked at my fish last night and my guppy hardly had his tail
my other one had gaps too!!!!

i watched to see who did it ( i first thought shrimp as they wer new and it just happend.but it seemed to be head and tail light tetras.i dont have time, money, space for a new tank i was thinking of getting a breeder trap and putting them in that till there better only two of them.

what do you guys say/think

well after you put them back into the main tank, won't the same just happen again????

if you have room you could add a couple more guppies.

that would spread the aggression out between them.

i don't know if that would work as they would all end up with bits of tail missing?? how many head and tail light tetra's do you have?? if it's under 6 i reccommend more as they like being in shoals and the bigger the shoal the less aggressive they are. i've heard of male guppies fighting with each other and spliting their fins but i don't know if that's true or not

:good:

what other fishes do you have in the tank?
hopefully, no betta!

so go through exactly what you have in the tank? and how many?
i would say if you had more h & t lights they'd be better.

:good:

glad this has been raised, i was thinking of head and tail lights and guppys, it will most likely be the guppys doing it to each other, fighting and nipping to see hu rules the tank, but since the h n t's are in a pair they are probably bored or not happy in a pair so resort to fin nipping...iv not heard of them doing it tho?

tetra-man2, tetras are known as nippers against things like betta's and so will nip guppies.

:good:

i thought flying foxes were know to nip? could be wrong tho.

the RTBS is gonna give you issues when it gets bigger tho.

they need 30 G minimum tank size.
