Allie, has bit off about 3/4 of his tail. And it grows back so slowly! I don't understand. He tore some off...so I got him his favorite plant back....he tore off some more so I switched to feeding live bloodworms only like he likes...and today he had torn off another giant chunk! He doesn't have fin rot, thank god, but he is going to kill himself if I don't do something more!!!!

Please, any one got any ideas? I am thinking about moving him to the 5 gal slot where he once bubblenested, but after Christmas I was going to buy him his own minibow 1 gal....perhaps I should just move him? Oh gosh, that fish!

And I hate to say this, but why does it have to be the one betta that my boyfriend and I picked out together, that got my bf so addicted to bettas, and that traveled with me for about 5-6 hours back to my house?!?! I have a history with this betta but he has proven hardest to please!

Help! ????

Here's what you want to do.

- Place your Betta in a larger tank
- put some rock salt on it (don't ever use idodized)
- put a plant
- every morning you put him under the sun like few 2 mins or so
- make him flare like 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening by putting a mirror beside teh tank
- Look for dried Ketapang leaves (indian Almond Leaves) in your area and put it in your tank.

You Betta might be bored and the environment looks boring to him so he needs more space and needs to flare his fins sometimes.

Goodluck :D

You mean aquarium salt right? Also what I did to stop one of my tail biters was to switch his decorations with something else and I moved him by my computer.

Thanks guys. I ended up moving him back to his section of 5 gallon with clean water and some aquarium salt. He seems more happy this morning, but we'll see.
