Green Terror Breeding

I've had 1 male and 2 female GT for about a year now, maybe a little longer!
Basicually, they used to breed constantly - even had both females laying at the same time sometimes (was hell when they did it next to each other ).
Now they're not breeding but are trying, they'll do there 'dance' then pick out a area of the tank, throw gravel about dig pits ect & look as if they're going to lay then suddenly they just stop and go back to swimming around the tank..

This is happening with both females, the male will just switch between them and the same thing will happen..
There's not much extra aggression from them then when there's actual fry about,
female beating on the male a little extra then normal when he goes into the area they're protecting but nothing serious!

The first few times i just took it as a failed spawn but could that happen so many times?
I'm not sure as they used to spawn first time every time during that year+

The only thing i can think of is the tank layout was completely changed, maybe they're not happy enough with the 'sites' to lay?

My guess is that for some reason they're not happy psychologically enough to spawn.
Maybe it's the tank layout./ Maybe it's because they've grown and that there just isn't enough space for both the females anymore. My thought would be to remove one of the females if possible.
