I've got a Juwel Vision 180 set up with laterite in the substrate, a CO2 system and have just installed an Arcadia Original Tropical 25W tube and a 25W Power-Glo tube to replace the original lighting. The lights are on a timer set for 12 hours a day. All my plants are now growing really well but I am getting a green film of algae on the water surface.
Can anyone advise if this is caused by too much light and if so, how long would you recommend having the aquarium lighting on. Until I installed the new lighting, the only plants that survived were Java fern and a few Cryptocorynes.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
