Gravel Question

Just after everyone's opinion on the best depth of gravel.....?

Depends on the application, just a normal fish tank about 0.5-1 inch, if it's a planted tank 1.5-2 inches.

I run all of my tanks in the 1 1/2 to 2 inch range but, as Truck has suggested, that is appropriate for planted tanks. I simply cannot imagine having a barren tank with no plants. The only time that I run without plants is when I am using a tank to rear fry. In that case I run completely without a substrate. A bare bottomed tank is much easier to keep clean when you are feeding fry 3 or 4 times a day.
