Ok, I got my tank situation squared away. The Mfr. sent me a check for the new tank. I can't seem to find any gravel I like. I used to have what looked more like a medium coarse tan sand in my old tank. I have been to every place around including the one where I got that gravel many years ago. Nobody has anything like it. I hate large gravel (especially the colored stuff!), it lets too much crap/food/etc in between the gravel and gets funky too fast. Is there a good online supplier that isn't going to gouge on shipping like 35-40# of gravel??? Or does anybody use a sand/gravel from a home center that they've cleaned (obviously) properly???

A lot of people favor 3M Colorquartz, which has been phased out in favor if 3M Spectraquartz. Comes in lots of colors, sand or fine gravel, sold mainly at pool supply stores.

you can get pretty much any substrate online via seapets, used them a few times myself.
