I was at a LPS the other day and noticed some very good looking pieces of wood in the reptile area. They are pieces of huge grapevines, 3-6 inches across, and all twisty and knotted and totally awesome looking... have been stripped of their bark to be put in a reptile tank... Any idea if this would be ok for a fish tank? after being waterlogged of course?... It is sorta aromatic, but most bare woods are anyway... anyone ever seen it used in a fish tank?

Well conditioned, it is fine. In my Asian tank I have numerous pieces of old vine roots.

Well conditioned, as in soaked to get all of the tanins out along with waterlogging it I would presume. My current piece of wood came from a local beach and took about a month of soaking to get it ready to go, I suppose the same is in order with the grapevine.
