Grape Vine Safe?

Hi i have got a big peice of wood which i think is grape vine that i got for reptiles but isnt being used is it safe for aquariums?

I'll be interested in the response as well. I just saw some of this at Petco and wondered. It's described as being sterilized.

I have read that some people say its fine and have used it for a long time and others say not to use it

i had it in my tank for about 2 years but it eventually rots still its generally cheaper than bogwood to replace and it looks great with java moss growing on it.
