i have a good pic of the gourami, and an ok iffy-ish pic of one of the cichlids. but my computer is being a bi***, excuse me, and i can't get to the thing that loads pics to webpage.

any ideas on wut to do?

maybe i'll just find someone on AIM and send it through there

Does the cichlid have a round body shape? Maybe it's a severum

This is a severum and they get 8 inches long

I had a tank with a gold gourami and successfully kept a convict cichlid as well as one of the ones that dwarfs has in the siggy pic and a pair of what's in dwarfs' avatar pic. It was a while ago and I forget their names

They did well. The convict and other guys hung out at the bottom of the tank (tall 35g hex) and the gourami hung out near the top.
