I'm curious about planted tanks, and I'm interested in setting one up for my betta. What plants would work for the tank? It doesn't have any lights, I just use the room light, and it gets plenty of natural light.

It's a fallacy that bettas don't need much room and can tolerate poor water conditions. They can do it in the wild for the short time of the dry season when the paddy fields don't have much water, but not on a permanent basis.
Ideally your betta will need a 5 gallon tank or bigger. If you can't invest in a larger tank make sure it is well filtered and heated and do frequent water changes.
Good low-light plants would be anubias and java ferns which would also give hiding/resting places. They usually like something near the top of the tank to rest on especially if it has long heavy fins which can be tiring to lug around.
Hope this is helpful

anubias, moss and crypts i think they will be good for a small low tech tank probably mostly moss :)
