Alright, I have a ten gallon tank and I want to plant it... It's going to contain one betta. I want the substrate to be sand as the gravel I like seems to be hard to root in. I have a bubbler and an option between 25 to 50 watts of light. I have one question though, what is an co2 injection? I've been reading about it and it seems essential for planting, will it be needed in such a small tank?

Anyway, I already have hornwort, some type of frill & two java fern but I'd like it to be so densly planted you can barely see the fish. :p But the meaning of the topic is, are there any good plants that would do great in a smaller tank?

CO2 :)

Anubias nana is an awesome little plant, I have some in my 2 gal that has an apple snail in it. The snail doesn't touch it, the tank has no additional lighting or CO2 and the Anubias is going strong. It is a slow grower so it can attract hair algae.

Elodea is pretty too, but it needs lots of light or it rots. It grows very, very fast so when it needs pruning, just cut some length from the bottom and stick the stem back in.

co2 sounds expensive. How much?
Can hairgass grow in no co2?
I think for now I'll stick for a more simple tank.
