I have a 100 litre tank which I'll be breaking down soon but as I have my hydor external sitting here waiting for the last bits to arrive for stream scape should I set it up running on my 100 litre so when everything has arrived for the other scape the filter is cycled and ready to put straight in the new scape? If this is a good idea and will work in theory I can add stock just after planting the new scape correct? I'm using florabase and I don't think it gives off ammonia from what I've read?

Sounds like a plan to me mate. :) Why not wash another filter out in the water of your 100 litre tank and allow your new one to suck it all up?!

Columbo florabase leaches ammonia...however, keep on top of water changes and add the mature filter straight away and you shouldn't have have a problem.

Cool, I sent the other one back, this one came with no instructions, lol flooded my room a little but it's all good now, just got a few air bubbles working their way out from time to time, other than that I'm really impressed with it, really good flow rate considering the basket is jam packed with media.

Only thing is I hate the look of the intake and outake pipes so lily pipes on order. Anyone know if you can get any joiners to shrink the hose down tho as the hoses are 20mm and lily pipes that are 20mm are too long for a 35cm deep tank?
