what is a good fish to breed my ph is 8.2 fresh out of tap but lowers to 7.3. I like the look of red head tapjos and green terrors. I plan on purchasing a 75-125 gallon tank. I want a fish which is easy to breed and has a good market for it

Im not sure how GTs and Geos would do in that PH i think to breed they need below 7. What about Hypsophrys nicaraguensis (Wills profile pic is of his female)

If you want something with a good market then don't go for anything large or agressive...

'Most' people have a tank ranging from 60-150l from what I've seen. So I wouldn't be aiming to breed anything that grows any larger than around 12cm. And would stick to fish that are relatively peaceful.

gts will breed under or over seven
there's kribs convicts
apistos angles blue
acaras jade eyes
Nana caranomala
rainbow cichlids

i already have palns to breed some kribs. Will an lfs purchase green terrors

the nicaruaga cichlid looks cool. Will it breed easily

if there a good on there a run
of the mill cichlid i would
go for the blue acara a fish
from the same genus i find
them not as aggressive as GTS

IMO green terrors wouldnt be a good choose because they get to big or aggressive for what most people want. What about a small type of Geo, Something like Geophagus iporangensis would work well because they only get 4" and are quite rare so should be fairly easy to sell. In a tank that size you could have a big group.

okay, what is the best way to go about lowerin gph to 6.5. I understand driftwood + plants =lower ph. Anyways to lower it faster

I also dont want the tank to be completely breeding. I still want it to be a nice tank that is beautiful.

bogwood is not a permanent solution. It is only lower when the tanins are in the water. A stable Ph is better than trying to reduce it. As long as the fish are acclimatised correctly they will be fine.

If you really want to drop it then get Ph 6.5 buffer by waterlife.

I live in the U.S. will waterlife ship? Does Waterlife really work

If you want to alter your pH long term then really the only proper way to do it is using RO water. You can get relatively cheap clip on chambers for the tap that are cheaper than full RO units, or you can buy it from LFS

could you give me a link to a clip on RO.
