So... After making and putting a spawning mop in with my two golden wonder panchax killifish last night, tonight I have a total of 23 perfectly clear little eggs. I have separated them from the mop and placed them into a hang-on breeder box and replaced the mop in the hope of more eggs!

Until just a couple of days ago I didn't even know what these beautiful fish were called. And now I'm so so excited to be a fishy grandma haha 🤣

Any advice on the eggs would be greatly appreciated. How long do they take to hatch etc?

I also was looking elsewhere and read something about putting in a tiny shrimp or two in the breeder box with the eggs as they will get rid of any fungus from the egg without eating or damaging them? What do you think?

Here's mummy and daddy and I will update with more pics as I go. Will get a good one of the eggs tomorrow (if I can) and hopefully anymore they've layed

Never put shrimp or snails with fish eggs because they eat the eggs.

Most killifish eggs take 1-2 weeks to hatch, panchax eggs usually hatch in less than a week. You can feed the babies on powdered fry food for egglayers (available from pet shops or online), or on boiled egg yolk pushed through a handkerchief into a container of boiled (but cooled) water. Then shaken up and use an eye dropper to add some of the solution several times a day.

After a week on these foods you can add newly hatched brineshrimp and microworms.

The following link has information about culturing food for baby fish and has more details on boiled egg yolk and brineshrimp nauplii (baby brinehsrimp).

Scoop the eggs out and put them in a clean container of water. Wash the breeding trap out to get rid of the bacteria and fungus in it. Then put the eggs back in it, or leave the eggs in a separate container of water with an airstone bubbling away gently.

I've also been removing "fluffy" eggs each day as I read these are usually unfertilised and why they begin growing fungus.
Thanks. That's now my job for the day. Your advice is precious and very much appreciated @Colin_T
