My bloomin' golden apple snails won't stop breeding and I can't bring myself to kill them or anything nasty (this isn't my main question, but does anyone know how to persuade them not to breed... something like lowering the temp slightly...?).

Anyway, my friend has a tank of goldfish and I wondered if I could give her some of my snails. Would they be ok moving from a tropical fish tank to a cold water one?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, does anyone know if apple snails are safe for Puffer food? If they are, I'll have as many as you can spare. (I'm in Suffolk)

Also, you could try local petshops. I know 'Pets at Home' (spit) will buy livestock and apple snails are pretty. Doesn't hurt to ask!

I'll try pets at home, I'm sure they'll take some. I would give you some, but I don't know how to get them to you :dunno:

Anyways, can they be moved from a tropical tank to a coldwater one straight away? Could I acclimatise them? Or would they probably die? Is it worth a try?
