I bought my gouramis about 6 weeks ago now, 3 opaline, 2 three spot and 3 gold gouramis.

I had to keep all of my fish in a tiny holding tank for over a week and then they were transported a good 50miles and then transferred over to a 6ft tank. During that process I lost one gold gourami.

Then a week or so after introduction into the 6ft tank, I lost another gold gourami, so now there is only one remaining.

I noticed no worrying signs before their deaths and all other fish (barring a really old BN) have been fine. Was it just stress? Do they not hold out as well as the other varieties?

And also, will my remaining gold gourami need some more friends or will he be okay with the other varieties of gourami in my tank?

In actual fact Vicky.... The common Blue Gouramie has so many variants, but they all stem from your 3 spot.... Opalines, 3 spot, and Golden Gouramies are exactly the same fish and are also sometimes known as the Cosby Gouramie, or Blue Gouramie.

So, to answer your question....he has enough family and friends in there with the others... they will all breed together because they are the same fish.
