So, now that my tank is newly planted (Friday night - 2 species of java fern, 2 species of anubias, 4 marimo moss balls, green and red tiger lotus) and I have set my 55 watt PC on the recommend "5-2-5 siesta" schedule (5 hours on-2 off-5 on), I am wondering how long I should allow my new plants to acclimate to FW prior to slowly raising salinity. Obviously, there's no fish in there for now. Is it better to allow the plants to "settle in" prior to raising the salinity, or is this worse?

Also, with regards to fertilizing - I've used 3" of Eco-Complete as my substrate, and am wondering if I should still use substrate tabs to feed the plants. If yes, how many and how soon?

Thanks to all.

If the tank is currently freshwater add the plants now then slowly raise the SG with weekly water changes. With eco-complete, substrate tabs aren't needed.
