Ghost shrimp

I have a pregnant ghost shrimp, and I thought I saw her eat one of her eggs! Have any of you seen your ghost shrimp do this?

Yeh, if the egg(s) is dead, or was never fertilized to begin with, or if she decided the living conditions weren't good enough for her offspring, a female may destroy her own eggs--eating some to recycle the protein.

Just cleaning up. They're good mommies until they lay the eggs. Then they waste all of that time they took caring for the eggs when they eat them.

Biologicla filtration, esp. sponge filter.

Tank about 5 gallons big. No tank mates or substrate. Plenty of infusoria.

Never was successful, myself.
