I have two German blue rams. One of them is taking a piece of substrate in it's mouth then digging a hole with it's body. It's like a spasm moving substrate forming a crater shape, while the other watches? Can someone explain this behavior? Is it normal.

yeah sounds like spawning behavior to me. Mine do it too, yet I've never seen any eggs.

Would that be a male or female behavior?
