I was wondering if a German Blue Ram or m/f pair would be suited to my community tank. The tank is 20 gallons with 4 otos, 7 harlequin rasbora, 1 guppy and 1 zebra snail. The tank is fully cycled and mature..(by the way)

Thanks for any responses!

Cheers,

Axy!

What PH is your water and what is the GH if you know?

Rams need soft water remember

Water is soft around <5 GH and the Ph is 7.2. Water temp is 24 celsius.

Are there any other dwarf cichlids that would be suitable, realised GBR is not ideal..

Anything from the Apistogramma family would do well, or Bolivian rams, which are much less demanding than the blues.

Just done some research, love the Apistogramma cacatuo.... Triple Red. Would I have no problem between the guppy and Apisto, like fin nipping?

Thanks for the reply Fluttermoth!

No, apistogrammas aren't nippy; they might chase fish away from their territory, but that's all.
